Scholarships

A variety of merit and need- based scholarships are offered to brilliant, needy, orphan and disable students by GSCWU to encourage and assist them. Professor Naseem Akhtar the registrar GSCWU is the overall incharge of all kinds of scholarships.

MORA (THE MINISTRY OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS) SCHOLARSHIP

MORA dispenses financial aid specifically to indigent, orphan and disabled Students from Ushr and Zakat Fund. This scholarship is to enable the needy students to have access to educational opportunity without facing financial problems.

PMFRS (PRIME MINISTER'S FEE REIMBURSEMENT SCHEME)

It is a scheme designed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for public sector universities particularly of the under developed districts like Bahawalpur. It is specifically meant to benefit the students of postgraduate level and graduate level. The students have to apply online registration of this scholarship on this website http://pmfrs.hec.gov.pk. In this scheme, the tuition fee of the student is refunded after completion of each semester.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Students securing high percentage in board examinations and high GPA in internal examintions are eligible for this scholarship.

THE PUNJAB EDUCATIONAL ENDOWMENT FUND (PEEF)

PEEF is an initiative of the government of the Punjab under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. To make it more efficient, transparent and autonomous in its functioning, it is registered under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. PEEF has been established with the objective of providing scholarships to talented and needy students for pursuing quality education with equal opportunities. The Punjab Educational Endowment fund (PEEF) scholarships have been classified into two major categories:

  • Outreach scholarship (80% of the total number)
  • Special Quota scholarship (20% of the total number)
  • Special Quota scholarships are awarded to meritorious and deserving
  • students who fall in at least one of the following categories:
    • Children of government servants in BPS 1-4
    • Children belonging to minorities
    • Special Children

NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP OF HEC

For financial assistance BS, MA/M.Sc and MS/M.Phil students at GSCWU can apply for this scholarship. The deserving students are interviewed by a team comprising a representative of HEC, the incharge Financial Aid GSCWU and head of the respective department about their financial background for approval of the grant of the scholarship
