Introduction

The Directorate of External Linkages is dedicated to fostering collaboration between Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur and various external entities, including academic institutions, research organizations, industry and community partners. Our aim is to enhance the university's visibility and impact through strategic partnerships and initiatives that promote academic excellence and community engagement.

To be a leading directorate that fosters dynamic, mutually beneficial collaborations and partnerships between academia, industry, and both local and global communities, thereby amplifying the university's glocal presence, driving societal impact, and advancing educational excellence.

Mission

The Directorate of External Linkages is dedicated to establishing and sustaining robust partnerships with local, national, and international organizations. We aim to enhance academic and research collaborations, promote faculty and student exchange programs, encourage community engagement, and facilitate the sharing of resources and best practices. Our mission is to empower faculty and students through collaborative research opportunities, professional development, and engagement with external stakeholders, ensuring the continued pursuit of educational excellence at GSCWU.

Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Standardize Agreements: Assist in the creation of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various institutions to formalize partnerships and collaborations, ensuring alignment with university goals and standards.
  • Enhance Collaboration: Establish and strengthen partnerships with external organizations for academic and research collaboration, actively engaging with external entities to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Promote Exchange Programs: Facilitate faculty and student exchange programs that enrich the educational experience, broaden cultural perspectives, and design programs that support these exchanges.
  • Support Research Initiatives: Encourage faculty and students to engage in collaborative research projects with external partners to enhance academic output, ensuring that these initiatives are aligned with the university's objectives.
  • Community Engagement: Develop initiatives that connect the university with local communities, promoting social responsibility and outreach, and coordinating events that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Resource Sharing: Promote the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices among institutions to enhance educational quality, providing guidance on collaborative opportunities for resource exchange.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate ongoing partnerships, programs, and initiatives to measure impact and effectiveness, ensuring transparency and accountability in all collaborative efforts.

Team

Dr Musarrat Azher – Director Directorate of External Linkages

Dr Musarrat Azher is a professor of English at Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur, Pakistan. She has on her credit Fulbright post-doctoral research scholarship (2022-2023) and National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) awarded by HEC (2019). Her research interests include: Pakistani academic writing, gender studies, ELT and Humor Linguistics. She has published over 70 research articles on various topics of applied linguistics, gender studies and humor linguistics. She is the editor of Research Journal of Language and Literary Studies (University of Sargodha). She has presented her research in various national and international conferences. She is member of the advisory boards of various research journals. She has supervised 35 research theses of MPhil graduates.

Dr. Uzma Maqbool – Additional Director Directorate of External Linkages

Dr. Uzma Maqbool is a dedicated and self-motivated PhD graduate with extensive expertise in Animal Nutrition, Feed Science, and Environmental Science. With a proven track record of academic and research excellence, she possesses exceptional communication, counseling, and organizational skills, making her a valuable asset in educational settings. Her experience includes teaching at prestigious institutions and conducting impactful research on animal genetics and nutrition, including studies on dietary effects in poultry. Dr. Maqbool also serves as the Additional Director of the Career Counseling Centre and Focal Person for Climate and SDGs at GSCWU, reflecting her commitment to holistic education and capacity building. With a strong foundation in Zoology and Animal Sciences, she aims to empower educators and administrative staff through innovative training workshops, fostering an environment of growth and development.

Dr. Aliya Ahmad Shaikh – Deputy Director Directorate of External Linkages

Dr. Aliya Ahmad Shaikh is a Human Resources Professional, Academician and Researcher. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur. During her corporate career she has actively remained in touch with training and development of employees as a trainer and as an administrator – which involved conducting training needs analyses, managing training programs and budgets, and developing content and partnerships for nationwide employee training. Moreover, in her research in PhD and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship she has actively contributed to topics related to training preferences, training methodologies, learning styles, employability skills and contextualizing generational differences in the workforce. Both her PhD and Post-Doc are from the Institute of Business, Management, and Administrative Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
