Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)
Introduction
Aristotle said, "Quality is not an act. It is a habit." We believe in this thought and strive to develop a culture of quality within our institution to ensure maximum satisfaction of all stakeholders including students, faculty, parents, and monitoring bodies.
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was established at the Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur under the umbrella of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, in September 2016. QEC has been entrusted with the responsibility of developing an internal quality assurance system through the Self-Assessment Process (SAP) and facilitating the accreditation of various academic programs from relevant accrediting bodies. The Cell works closely with departments and faculty to improve academic and co-curricular activities through continuous quality enhancement.

Functions of QEC
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Saiqa Imtiaz Asif, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, has been functioning since September 2016 and is headed by Dr. Taseer Salahuddin, Director QEC. The Director serves as the official correspondent with external quality assurance bodies.
The major responsibilities of QEC include:
- Establishing an Internal Quality Assurance System through the Self-Assessment Process (SAP).
- Facilitating accreditation of academic programs through relevant accrediting bodies.
- Reviewing and improving the quality of teaching and academic processes.
- Enhancing faculty knowledge and skills through workshops, seminars and capacity-building programs.
- Promoting the adoption of modern trends and technologies in teaching and learning.
- Providing recommendations to University authorities through internal and external academic audits.
- Developing qualification frameworks for Master's, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs.
- Designing quality assurance procedures and evaluation methods to maintain academic standards and promote curriculum, faculty and research development.
- Ensuring that the University's quality assurance mechanisms comply with national quality assurance standards for higher education.
Quality Assurance Procedures
QEC develops and implements procedures for the following quality assurance activities:
- Approval of new academic programs.
- Annual monitoring and evaluation of programs, faculty performance and student perceptions.
- Departmental reviews.
- Student feedback.
- Employer feedback.
- Quality assurance of Master's, M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree programs.
- Subject reviews.
- Institutional assessment.
- Development and review of program specifications.
