Department of Urdu

The Department of Urdu is as old as the history of the Govt. Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur. Besides teaching Inter classes, Urdu Department has started Two year MA Urdu program from 2013, compulsory Urdu language courses and Urdu literature are taught to all inter classes and Master level classes, particular focus is given to the poet of the east, Allama iqbal to inculcate in them spirit of Iqbal, ideas and philosophy of Islam. Urdu Department has been playing a remarkable role since the beginning .As for literary and intellectual activities are concerned the Department has ever been very active. It has Debating’s society as well as a dramatic society. Many famous plays have been performed by the students under the directions of the Dramatic society. Debating society works efficiently to organize speeches, debate and Declamation contest, on regular basis
