Security Department

Mission Statement

Provides personal, equipment, and property security for faculty, staff, students, and visitors within the University campus. The department offers escort services and other public assistance as required while performing routine security and public safety patrols. It remains alert to emergency situations and provides first-line response, emergency management, and referrals whenever necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide a secure and well-protected environment across the University campus.
  • Establish and monitor the Central Control Room through the CCTV surveillance network.
  • Inspect doors, windows, and gates to ensure campus security and use University keys to open and close buildings while monitoring for unauthorized access.
  • Check and warn individuals violating University rules, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items.
  • Provide escort services for visitors, students, faculty, and staff, along with other public assistance such as lockout services, jump-starts, and general information.
  • Monitor and report security breaches, safety hazards, facility issues, and emergency situations while contacting police, fire, or ambulance services when required.
  • Remain vigilant for unauthorized persons or security violations and notify or assist law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Provide safe transportation to University employees and visitors using institutional vehicles when required.
  • Monitor designated parking areas to ensure security and provide assistance.
  • Maintain security controls for University keys and safeguard issued equipment.
  • Prepare routine and standardized security reports.
  • Serve as Campus Security Authority in accordance with the directives of the competent authority.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
