A joint meeting of the Faculty Deans, Head of Departments and Administrative and Principal Officers of the Govt. Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur and the Islamia University, Bahawalpur was held here today to review different issues of both the city universities including the annual budget for the fiscal year, 2013-14. The Vice-Chancellor, IUB/GSCWU, Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Chaired the meeting and termed this first joint meeting quite effective to carry out different schemes and plans for the improvement of the newly set-up Women University, Bahawalpur to provide it a sound base. He extended gratitude over the kind support, confidence and cooperation of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Punjab government for assurance to provide all possible assistance to run the affairs of both the universities smoothly and effectively to deliver the best out of the available resources and giving him the chance to serve the two universities as Vice-Chancellor. He directed the Deans, Heads of the departments and other officials of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur to extend maximum support and guidance in every academic and administrative fields including Syllabus, Examinations, Finance and Semester system for the improvement of the Govt. Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur’s staff to make them self-sufficient at earlier stage. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar announced on the occasion that the female Ph.D Faculty members and Scholars of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur would be deputed as Adjunct at the Govt. Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur to become academically helpful in the Women University. He appreciated the role of the joint team of both the universities which set-up website and prospectus of the Women University, Bahawalpur. He also directive the administrative officers of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur to take early steps for the establishment of the Treasury and Registrar offices and the Examination Branch at the GSCWU, Bahawalpur to ensure early functional. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar ordered to set-up a Day Care Centre at the GSCWU, Bahawalpur for the female faculty members and extension of the IUB guest house to accommodate the visiting scholars of the country and from abroad. The Vice-Chancellor further announced that a new building would soon be constructed at the Islamia University, Bahawalpur for the students of the Special Education to provide them all possible facilities to run their studies without any problem. He hailed the selection of the local PML (N) leader, Mian Baleegh-ur-Rehman as State Minister for Education and Technical Training and expressed the hope that it would help a lot to further boost the educational progress in the area including both the universities of Bahawalpur. The female faculty members of the GSCWU, Bahawalpur remarked that the day would come soon when this university of women would to be among the prestigious universities of the country and would establish new chapter of progress and prosperity in the area through high class education for ladies under the kind supervision of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar.
